I'm a big fan of Evangeline, but I prefer Haley Josephine. I think it flows better, and it's nicer without the repeated vowel sounds. I went with Hailee Mailia for my daughter.

It made sense to go with that spelling because we are of an asian decent Hmong and I wanted to keep the "lee" appearent in her name, which also represents grandma's maiden last name. The first part of Hailee is also similar to her middle name Mailia, so it made sense to go with Hai instead of Hay because of the similarity. In addition, Hmong people often refer to females as "Mai" since it's a polite way to address a female if her name is unknown.

As for the second half of her middle name, "lia" was chosen because my name is Lia. So after all that dissecting my husband and I decided Mailia instead of Mylia.
